Product Overview

A containerised generator places a large power module inside a robust enclosure that can incorporate intake and discharge paths, exhaust attenuation, access doors, lighting, control equipment and selected fuel-system components. The container format is particularly useful where a high-capacity open set would otherwise require extensive site-built weather protection and acoustic treatment.

The enclosure must do more than surround the engine. Heat rejection, airflow velocity, recirculation, silencer backpressure, maintenance removal routes and cable termination all influence performance. Kaichen develops the arrangement from the generator rating and site interface drawing, then confirms the openings, compartment layout and lifting concept before fabrication.

Reference Configuration

These published container benchmarks illustrate common size classes rather than a fixed Kaichen model. Engine, alternator, ventilation, exhaust, fuel, fire strategy, sound target and container dimensions are finalized from the approved project datasheet.

Continuity Planning by Business Function

  • Radiator discharge must be separated from fresh-air intake so hot air cannot cycle back into the container.
  • Acoustic baffles are sized together with airflow resistance; simply adding more lining can restrict cooling if the ventilation design is not recalculated.
  • Exhaust routing considers silencer location, flexible connection, rain protection, surface temperature and service access.
  • Projects at high ambient temperature or altitude require a derating and heat-rejection review before enclosure geometry is frozen.

Container Interface Planning

  • Cable entry can be arranged through a floor gland area or side terminal compartment to match the installation route.
  • Personnel doors, removable panels and major-component extraction paths should be shown on the general-arrangement drawing.
  • Base-frame loads, lifting points and transport restraints are verified independently; standard container appearance does not itself confirm shipping certification.
  • Day tanks, bulk-fuel connections, fire detection, space heating and remote monitoring are incorporated only when they appear in the approved scope.

Suitable Large-Power Projects

  • Data centers and communications infrastructure
  • Mining plants and remote industrial camps
  • Utilities, pumping stations and water projects
  • Large commercial developments and hospitals
  • Ports, logistics hubs and temporary power plants
  • Multi-set installations with synchronization switchgear

Inputs for a Container General-Arrangement Drawing

  1. Required prime and standby rating with load profile
  2. Preferred container class or maximum site footprint
  3. Ambient temperature, altitude, wind, dust and corrosion category
  4. Sound limit, measurement distance and boundary location
  5. Radiator arrangement and permitted external ducting
  6. Cable, exhaust, fuel and control interface locations
  7. Fire detection, lighting, service power and monitoring scope

Jiangsu Kaichen Electric Power Equipment Co., Ltd. manufactures generator sets and integrated power solutions for industrial, commercial and standby applications. Before production, the project team reviews the confirmed electrical rating, operating duty, installation environment, controls, enclosure and requested options. Inspection and testing scope are agreed for the actual supply package.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is a containerised set ready for ocean freight as supplied?

A: Not automatically. Transport method, lifting certification, structural requirements and shipping approvals must be included in the agreed design.

Q: Can the radiator remain inside the container?

A: Yes, in many designs, provided the airflow path, fan duty, pressure drop and recirculation control are engineered for the site conditions.

Q: Does a longer container always mean a quieter generator?

A: No. Sound performance depends on intake and discharge attenuators, exhaust treatment, panel construction, leakage paths and the measurement method.

Q: Can several container generators operate together?

A: They can be configured for parallel operation when synchronization, load sharing, protection, bus arrangement and control communications are defined.
