Product overview
An automatic standby generator is designed to respond without waiting for an operator. The transfer controller monitors the normal source, commands the generator to start after a qualified failure, verifies the emergency source and moves approved loads according to the programmed sequence.
Reliable automation requires more than connecting two pieces of equipment. Voltage sensing, phase arrangement, breaker or switch interlocking, engine warm-up, load acceptance, return delay, cooldown, alarms and manual test modes must be documented as a complete control narrative.

Automatic Operating Cycle
- Normal-source monitoring distinguishes a sustained failure from a short disturbance.
- The generator starts and reaches acceptable voltage and frequency before transfer permission is issued.
- The transfer device connects the emergency bus using the approved transition method.
- After stable utility power returns, loads transfer back and the generator completes its cooldown sequence.
Control and Monitoring Options
- Local controls provide manual, automatic and test functions appropriate to the selected system.
- Remote contacts or communications can report source status, generator availability, common alarm and selected detailed faults.
- Load shedding and staged restoration can be added where the standby source should not accept every circuit simultaneously.
Automatic Standby Applications
- Commercial buildings and warehouses
- Telecom and data equipment rooms
- Water pumps and infrastructure controls
- Factories requiring unattended outage response
- Residential estates and remote properties
- Security, communications and essential services
Control-System Information Required
- Normal and emergency source voltage and phase
- Transfer-switch current and short-circuit requirements
- Preferred open or closed transition philosophy
- Loads requiring staged addition or shedding
- Start, transfer, retransfer and cooldown delays
- Local test modes and remote command permissions
- Alarm list and communication interface
