Product Overview

A towable diesel generator brings temporary or emergency electricity to changing work locations without rebuilding a permanent plant room. The generator, enclosure, fuel system and controls are carried on a trailer or mobile chassis so the set can be positioned near construction packages, pumping operations, service crews, events or recovery work.

Mobility introduces engineering questions that stationary sets do not have. The final package must account for towing conditions, center of gravity, axle capacity, drawbar arrangement, stabilizing supports, cable handling and protection against rain, dust and impact. Kaichen therefore treats the mobile platform and the power module as one project rather than two unrelated items.

Reference Configuration

The reference range and 80 kW example below are drawn from a published trailer-generator series. Road registration, axle loading, towing speed, brakes, lighting and local transport compliance must be engineered for the destination; the figures are not a blanket road-legal declaration.

Mobility options

Fixed, two-wheel or four-wheel configurations by project

Deployment Workflow

  • Choose a level, ventilated position with safe exhaust clearance and a cable route that does not create a vehicle or pedestrian hazard.
  • Apply wheel chocks, parking brake and stabilizing supports before operating the generator or opening service doors.
  • Connect the earthing system and distribution equipment according to the approved temporary-power plan.
  • Inspect fuel, coolant, battery, emergency stop and cable condition before every relocation and start cycle.

Mobile-Package Design Points

  • Service doors on both sides can shorten inspection time when the trailer is parked in a constrained compound.
  • Dust screens, weather seals and acoustic treatment are selected around the destination climate and cleaning routine.
  • Quick-connect outlets, terminal boxes, integrated lighting or cable storage can be added from an agreed interface schedule.
  • Lifting and tie-down points should be identified separately so transport restraints are not attached to unsuitable components.

Where Mobility Adds Value

  • Road and bridge construction packages
  • Mining exploration and dewatering
  • Emergency response and temporary shelters
  • Agricultural pumping and seasonal operations
  • Outdoor events and temporary commercial sites
  • Rental fleets serving multiple customers

Jiangsu Kaichen Electric Power Equipment Co., Ltd. manufactures generator sets and integrated power solutions for industrial, commercial and standby applications. Before production, the project team reviews the confirmed electrical rating, operating duty, installation environment, controls, enclosure and requested options. Inspection and testing scope are agreed for the actual supply package.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is every mobile generator licensed for public roads?

A: No. Road use depends on destination regulations and the approved trailer specification. A mobile plant chassis and a road-registered trailer are not automatically the same product.

Q: Can the generator run while being towed?

A: No. It should be parked, stabilized, earthed and operated in an approved safe location with adequate airflow and exhaust clearance.

Q: How is trailer size selected?

A: The power module weight, fuel capacity, enclosure, axle distribution, towing limits and service clearances determine the final chassis.

Q: Can outlets be supplied instead of a terminal connection?

A: Project-specific sockets or quick connections can be considered after current rating, voltage, ingress protection and regional connector standards are confirmed.
